--FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-- JANUARY 1, 2016 LOS ANGELES, CA
[LOS ANGELES] Los Angeles’ ever-expanding gallery scene has just added one more powerhouse to its roster. Gallery 1,2 celebrates opening 2016 with great fanfare, and one ceiling fan. Gallery 1,2 is located in the city's newest art hot-spot: The Fashion, Arts & Education District (F-ART-ED). “While most galleries are getting bigger, we believe Gallery 1,2 presents a more intimate experience. A place to sit, to think, to do your business... all while admiring great art”, says Bruce Adlhoch, Founder & Curator. No expense was spared in the buildout of the space, including a factory-mismarked TOTO ("TITO") toilet; waste basket from Bed Bath & Beyond, and two varieties of toilet paper: Charmin Ultra-Strong and Charmin with Chamomile.
The gallery will focus on emerging artists and the occasional emerging sculpture, so to speak. Featuring an expansive 3’ x 6’ showroom, Gallery 1,2 makes its debut featuring a single work entitled Lights, Camera, Teddy! discovered at a local thrift shop. “We are fortunate to have acquired this major work before the major collectors and musuems discovered it, and we feel this piece represents a new ‘movement' in the art community”, comments Adlhoch.

After a spirited tug-of-war at Goodwill Industries between the gallerist and a collector-hobo simply known as “Gus”, the hammer fell and the reserve price of $1.99 was successfully reached at the cash register. The hammer itself is reportedly being held as evidence by LAPD investigators while both bidders face criminal assault charges.

Art critics are already buzzing over Lights, Camera, Teddy! and the mysterious mixed-media artwork seems to ask as many questions as it answers: Can a teddy bear actually direct a movie?... Is Teddy angry or proud?... What is that red thing Teddy is holding in his paw? Why is the price tag still attached?...
Gallery hours are by appointment only, and on a first-come, first-served basis. The gallery is generally busiest in the mornings, late evenings and occasionally around 3am.
